The BEA has six standing committees which include the following:

Operations Committee
To provide efficient and effective leadership in support of general operations and program delivery of the association.

Community Involvement
To encourage the involvement and participation of parents, students and communities through the development and / or access to educational packages / workshops that will assist them in meeting their educational goals.

Professional Development
To enhance members overall personal and professional growth in the areas of teaching skills, coping skills, race relations, cultural sensitivity and awareness, etc.

Curriculum Development
To provide supports to members, school boards and the African Canadian Service Division in the area of curriculum development by keeping abreast of curriculum changes, evaluation of resource / test books, etc., and to develop a resource bank.

Membership Committee
To heighten the awareness of the Association amongst its members. To develop a strategic plan to recruit new and former members to the Association. To recommend individuals for membership in the Association. To provide encouragement and support to members.

Personnel Committee
To recommend policies and practices to the management committee to ensure an effective and efficient business operation.
